UN investigators say Myanmar’s military stepped up attacks on civilians ahead of the December 2025-January 2026 election, striking homes, schools, health facilities and displacement camps.The IIMM said war crimes and crimes against humanity by the military and armed groups continued to increase, with evidence of arbitrary detention, torture and sexual violence.Investigators are also examining allegations against anti-junta armed groups. Myanmar’s government and opposition groups had not commented on the findings.
